Do you
remember
the magic
of your
first book?
First Book provides new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy—access to books.
Books make a difference.
The number of books in the home correlates strongly with children’s reading skills, yet most children from low-income families have no books at all at home.
First Book makes a difference.
First Book gives disadvantaged young children a steady supply of their own new books. In five years, we have given over 200,000 books to children living in poverty in Collier County.
Your support makes a difference.
Through First Book’s national organization, we are able to purchase top-quality new books at a fraction of the retail cost. A donation of $500 provides ten books for each disadvantaged child in an entire pre-K, K, or first-grade classroom.
